Our Three Lucks
Let’s talk about Luck
In traditional Chinese principles, there is a relationship between Feng Shui and luck. Feng Shui is based on the Law of the Universe, which is the idea that everyone and everything we encounter is made of energy, all vibrating at different frequencies. By understanding this law, we can make changes to our attitudes and actions, and to our environment which shift energy to redirect any imbalance. If you are experiencing bad luck, or negativity, there are actions you can take to address this by better understanding your own energy, and the energy of your environment.
It is believed that each person’s luck profile is based on three aspects.
Heaven Luck - the luck you are given at birth
Man Luck - based upon your words and actions in this lifetime
Earth Luck - determined by when and where you were born and also the environment in which you live
The three lucks work together, in roughly equal degrees of influence, to have an impact upon our experiences in this lifetime.
Have you ever heard someone described as “born lucky?” These fortunate people seem to bypass problems and sail through difficult times completely unscathed. People like this are believed to have come into this life with good karma, and have a strong presence of Heaven Luck. When considering luck profiles, a person’s Heaven Luck is the first to be described and considered. This luck accounts for around 30% of our experience in this lifetime. Also referred to as cosmic or universal Qi, Heaven Luck is the pre-existing luck allocated to us before we were born. Heaven Luck is fixed and we are therefore unable to alter the amount of Heaven Luck that we have.
If you are seeking to change your luck destiny, and bring more luck to your life, you need to focus your attention on your Man Luck and Earth Luck.
Man Luck is traditionally believed to be the most important of all the lucks as it accounts for around half of a person’s luck. Man Luck originates from within each of us; our attitudes, values and beliefs. We can influence our Man Luck, by ensuring we are using our energy and individual traits and gifts in a positive way. By seeking to better ourselves, by acting with integrity and conducting our lives in alignment with our core values, we are more likely to fulfill our density and feel at peace with ourselves and our environment.
Feng Shui is one way that we can address and seek to improve our Earth Luck. This type of luck relates to the environment and spaces that we inhabit, and makes up the remaining 20% of a person’s luck. Part of our Earth Luck relates to when and where we were born, and is impacted by the prosperity and political climate of our place of birth. But Earth Luck is changeable and fluid. Because all people and places are constantly creating Qi, we both influence and are influenced by what surrounds us. Our Earth Luck responds to the energy of land forms, weather, magnetic fields, geopathic stress, colours, shapes and architecture.
